This is a full-time, on-site Science Teacher role based in Southampton. The Science Teacher will also contribute to wider school life through form tutoring, participation in meetings and training, communication with families, and involvement in enrichment or STEM-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject knowledge and experience in Science Education, with the ability to teach across disciplines such as Physics and integrate relevant Mathematics concepts.
  • Recognized teaching status (e.g., Qualified Teacher or equivalent) with experience in lesson planning and classroom delivery for a range of abilities.
  • Experience or interest in working with pupils with special educational needs, including adapting lessons and resources to support diverse learning profiles.
  • Skilled in creating inclusive, safe, and positive classroom environments that promote progress, resilience, and independent learning.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with colleagues, therapists, and families, including clear record-keeping and reporting on pupil progress.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and engagement with evidence-informed teaching approaches.
  • Desirable: experience in secondary or specialist settings, involvement in STEM clubs or enrichment, and familiarity with therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches.
