Yardbird – Assistant Restaurant Manager

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focussed Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at Yardbird.

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring consistently high standards of service, team performance and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands‑on position that requires a confident leader who is comfortable managing busy services while supporting and developing the restaurant team.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day management of the restaurant
  • Lead restaurant operations and coordinate the team during busy services
  • Deliver a visible, hands‑on management presence on the restaurant floor
  • Support with recruitment, training and induction of new restaurant staff
  • Oversee restaurant cleanliness and report any maintenance concerns
  • Resolve complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Enforce health and safety practices, including sanitation and food hygiene
  • Ensure consistent quality standards during service
  • Oversee the opening and closing of the premises, including set‑up and clean down.

About you

  • At least 1 years’ experience working as a restaurant supervisor or manager position in a similar busy (table service) restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
