Yara is a global leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of speciality nutrients and biostimulants that support regenerative agriculture worldwide. Due to growth expectations and strategic importance of the products made in the UK, we are building a new global production plant at Howden, East Yorkshire. We are currently recruiting for experienced Test & Commissioning Engineer to join a specialised business within the fertilizer manufacturing sector, to assist commissioning on a new-build facility based in Howden, on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, cutting edge equipment and systems used in a demanding environment. The role would suit someone with strong electro-mechanical testing experience who excels at fault finding, problem solving, and hands-on engineering work. You will be involved with skilled multi-functional engineering teams in the setup, testing, commissioning, and early maintenance of sophisticated equipment and systems both on-site and within the production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, test, and commission electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Carry out electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic testing activities.
  • Perform IR testing, loop testing, earth bonding.
  • Use of test equipment including multi-meters.
  • Investigate and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities on-site when required.
  • Ensure all test procedures, documentation and test results are all completed accurately and to the highest standards.

Profile What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within a test, commissioning, or electro-mechanical engineering environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using a range of testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, P&IDs and follow procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to site rules.
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical installation/maintenance
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection
  • HNC/HND in Engineering
  • Site Safety Passport
  • Previous commissioning experience within manufacturing, automation systems, chemical processing.
