About The Unit Yara Pocklington is part of Yara International ASA, and is a global leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of speciality nutrients and biostimulants that support regenerative agriculture worldwide. Our Pocklington site has been established since 1967 and continues to play a key role in our global success. Due to growth expectations and strategic importance of the products, following >£100 million investment, we are building a new global production plant at Howden.
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will play a vital role in ensuring our operations run smoothly by delivering effective planned and preventative maintenance and ensuring safe methods of work. This position will support the transition and continuity of production before transferring to the new site. The role is based at our Pocklington Global Plant, with the potential of longer-term opportunities at the new plant in Howden.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planned and preventative maintenance across the site.
- Respond promptly and safely to equipment breakdowns.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
- Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies, including Permit to Work systems.
- Support plant reliability and availability by contributing to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements.
Profile/Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (min) in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- IPAF 3B license (desirable).
- Welding and fabrication skills (advantageous).
- Experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of relay logic and PLC fault-finding.
- Experience with fluid-transfer pumps (centrifugal/progressing cavity).
- Understanding of LOTO, PUWER, and LOLER regulations.
- COMAH site experience (highly desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- IT literacy, with working knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts in line with seasonal demands.
