We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer to join our team. The scope of works is varied but mainly concentrates on the installation, repair and maintenance of lifting equipment and other related machinery. Reporting to the Operations Manager / Managing Director, the main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- UK wide servicing, breakdowns, installation & commissioning of overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantries, hoists, manipulators and various lifting equipment on sites throughout the UK.
- Emergency and planned remedial repairs of lifting equipment across various customer sites.
- LOLER Inspections / examinations of lifting equipment on customer sites.
- Servicing & repair of overhead cranes and hoists, both mechanical and electrical.
- Mechanical assembly and fitting work (both in house and at customer sites) - including steelwork erection.
- Completing daily job sheets and checklists to the required standards.
- Carrying out works using your own initiative to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently and professionally.
Essential Requirements
- You must be fully conversant with electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Fault finding experience, ideally on electrical & pneumatic systems including overhead cranes & hoists.
- Must be able to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
- Full UK driving license - company van will be provided.
- A good understanding of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- A willingness to work away and work extra hours when required.
- Work is UK wide - frequent travel and overnight stays will be required.
Desirable
- LEEA experience/qualifications (training can be given).
- Knowledge of pneumatics (training can be given).
- Working at height experience/training (training can be given).
- Experience with PLC & inverter programming (training can be given).
You will also be required to adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and quality management system. Salary/package is dependent on skills and experience and is negotiable for the right candidate. Company van, phone, laptop etc provided.
