In the fast-paced work of FinTech Open Banking, where innovation meets financial services, we are seeking an exceptional engineer to drive our engineering team to new heights.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking an exceptional Senior Front End Developer to lead our front-end engineering team with a strong product mindset. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, driving innovation in our user interfaces while mentoring a talented team of developers. The ideal candidate will shape our front-end architecture, champion best practices, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in modern web development. As the Front End Developer lead, you will play a key role in not just designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications, but also influencing the product roadmap, ensuring that front-end decisions align with user needs, business goals, and long-term scalability. Beyond writing code, you’ll act as a bridge between engineering and product, using data, user feedback, and industry best practices to refine and optimize our web applications. Making your role critical to our success.

Requirements

  • Lead and mentor a Front End development team, fostering technical excellence and driving innovation.
  • Define and implement technical strategy, architectural decisions, and development best practices.
  • Champion modern development practices and ensure knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Architect and implement complex, high-performance SPA with a focus on scalability and accessibility.
  • Design and maintain internal APIs, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, implementing optimizations for both cost and quality.
  • Partner with Product Management to define technical requirements and product roadmap.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement intuitive, visually appealing interfaces.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to deliver new customer-facing products and features.
  • Implement robust code review processes and maintain high development standards.
  • Ensure application security through implementation of best practices and regular audits.
  • Take ownership of quality assurance processes, including testing strategies and automation.

This list is not exhaustive, and there may be other tasks that we ask you to be involved in from time to time. Above all, you are flexible and want to add value wherever you can. You understand that in a small and relatively young organisation, priorities change. Not only will you expect to be asked to input and lead in other areas, but you’ll be instigating this yourself.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Postgraduate degree preferred.

Proven experience in software development and architecture, preferably within the fintech or banking industry.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex projects across frontend and backend domains.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of operating and working in high-performing engineering teams.

Exceptional communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.

Deep understanding of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to Open Banking and financial technology.
