Responsibilities:

  • Architect and oversee highly scalable, secure web applications, services, and APIs, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Champion AI-native development workflows, integrating AI coding agents to improve developer velocity, code quality, and maintainability across the team.
  • Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape the technical roadmap, translating complex requirements into elegant and scalable solutions.
  • Define technical standards and lead robust code review processes, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Support and CSM functions to proactively troubleshoot, debug, and resolve critical customer issues.
  • Deepen our collective expertise in Open Banking and PSD2, pushing the boundaries of what can be built with our APIs.

Qualifications:

  • You bring expert-level experience with Java and the Spring Framework, with a proven track record in distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • You embrace innovation and are eager to drive our AI-native future by effectively integrating AI coding agents into your daily development workflow.
  • You are commercially minded and pragmatic; you prioritise effective, cost-efficient solutions and are always looking to iterate on best practices you have seen elsewhere.
  • You have an API-first product mindset: you prioritise customer outcomes and deeply engage with user use-cases before writing code.
  • You are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and the fast-paced, changing priorities of a startup environment.
