Your Role & Team in a Nutshell
As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sales goals within assigned accounts, incl. Sainsbury, Argos and Tesco. Your focus will be on customer retention and penetration, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and identifying opportunities to grow the business.
You will be part of a sales team of ten, delivering against financial goals and KPIs while championing brands from the Home Appliances category (e.g., Breville , Crockpot ) and the Writing category (e.g., Sharpie , PaperMate ).
We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Commercial and Financial KPIs: Maintain full profit and loss responsibility for accounts, drive growth by increasing profitable throughput, and accurately forecast volume, value, Gross Margin, and account budgets within agreed timescales.
Customer Relationship Development: Identify new opportunities for growth and manage ongoing product listings.
Joint Business Plan (JBP): Create and execute the JBP, reviewed monthly and quarterly, to ensure all account metrics are achieved and relevant stakeholders are engaged.
Customer Management: Nurture and develop existing customers in line with commercial goals.
Promotional Plans: Create, own, and proactively manage 12-24 month rolling promotional plans with account objectives in mind.
New Business Opportunities: Identify and grow new business opportunities in line with strategic goals.
Product Launches: Execute and activate New Poduct Launches to maximise brand exposure online and digitally.
Stock and Sales Forecasting: Drive best practice in stock and sales forecasting, as well as service and availability management, by analysing customer EPOS data (customer sell-out) and market data (e.g., IRI, GFK).
In-person Account Visits: Develop and maintain a value-added approach through a regular in-person account visit strategy, with meetings held weekly or bi-weekly depending on the account.
Sales Optimisation: Identify and explore ways to optimise sales through store visits and web analysis.

Minimum:
Proven commercial account management experience (preferably with Sainsbury, Argos, Tesco)
Solid understanding of business financials and ability to analyse customer EPOS data and market data to drive future planning
Demonstrated strategic development and hands-on management of an account portfolio
Willing to travel 50% of time
