Responsibilities include: Technical Duties Prepare gross surgical specimens for Pathology Assistant or Pathologist. Other duties Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing specimens and slides. Quality Investigate and document problems with unacceptable specimens. Problem solving Follow established guidelines for troubleshooting instrument, reagent, or specimen problems. Regulation Compliance Comply with established laboratory and hospital policies for universal precautions and safety. People Participate in staff meetings and promote effective working relationships. Customer Service Use patient/family-centered values and conduct all work activities with respect to the rights and wishes of patients, visitors, and patients\’ families. Qualifications Education Successfully completed a NAACLS-accredited histotechnician program within the last 5 years, or possess a current HT(ASCP) certification. Alternatively, at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, including 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), or an associate degree with similar coursework, and one year of full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory. Experience Three years of histology experience preferred. Licensure ASCP certification (HT-ASCP) preferred. Requisition ID: 133431 #J-18808-Ljbffr
