Responsible for the direction, supervision, and evaluation of nursing care during hours of duty. Has responsibility for activities concerned with assigned personnel, for the evaluation of patient care, for equipment and supplies, and interdepartmental relations.
Responsibilities- Assumes responsibility for the operational needs of the nursing division and for the nursing care delivered during the assigned shift.
- Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization.
- Acts as a clinical resource and role model.
- Actively participates in training and educational activities for other staff members.
- Demonstrates a high level of respect, dignity, compassion, and professionalism for all customers by utilizing the four tenets of Patient and Family Centered Partnership.
- Recognizes and values the contributions of fellow employees and displays cooperation and teamwork.
- Reports to work on time, prepared to work, and follows hospital policies for notice of lateness/absenteeism and time off requests.
- Education: BS preferred.
- Experience: Five years recent clinical experience in relevant area of nursing practice. Previous nursing management experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency, including effective communication skills, problem-solving, confronting/resolving issues, motivating others, planning, organizing, and directing activities.
- Licensure: Current registration as RN in the state. BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications required.
