A leading enterprise infrastructure transformation programme is hiring a hands-on Storage & Infrastructure Architect to own the design, implementation and migration of a multi-vendor storage and backup estate. The role spans current-state consolidation, target-state architecture, and the data-migration runway behind it.
You will own technical architecture end-to-end (HLD, LLD, SOPs), engage vendors to shape strategy against the architecture roadmap, and partner with Windows, Networks, Security and Operations teams to build the services that sit on top.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement: Networks/ Firewalls / Service design / DR / Automation / Monitoring / Security / Auditing.
- Prepare HLD, LLD and SOPs.
- Run POCs and validate technology against business requirements.
- Gather current production performance data, identify gaps, design out remediation in the new solution.
- Define strategy and coordinate across stakeholders and vendors.
- Tune systems for high performance against business demand.
- Consolidate technologies inline with the architecture roadmap.
- Engage with Windows, Networks, Security and Operations teams to build services and capabilities.
Technical Stack:
- Storage & Backup (must have hands-on with the majority): Object storage: Cloudian, NetApp FAS, Dell EMC ECS.
- Cloud: AWS and Azure.
- Switching / SAN fabric: Cisco MDS Director Class series; Brocade switches and DCX Directors.
- Migration tooling: Native tools and Datadobi.
- UK security clearance (SC / NPPV3 / DV) already in place.
- Experience operating in regulated financial services.
- Vendor accreditations across Dell EMC, NetApp, Cisco, Brocade.
- Experience in service-design and ITIL-aligned operations transition.
- 8–10+ years across enterprise storage architecture and infrastructure engineering, with at least one full large-scale migration delivered end-to-end.
- Track record of consolidating heterogeneous storage estates against a target architecture.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management.
- Ability to work onsite in the UK as required and to hold or obtain UK security clearance.
