London, United Kingdom

Most Power BI roles ask you to build what someone else hasalready specified. This one asks you to decide how an entire enterprise uses Power BI — and then to make it happen.

A leading UK financial services organisation is standing upa modern cloud data platform, with Power BI as the strategic reporting layer ontopof it.

The governed semantic layer, certified datasets, enterprise designstandards and community of practice are still being shaped — and theorganisation is serious enough about data capability to have already investedin it.

You will decide what good looks like, and own it end to end.

This is deliberately not a pure Power BI developer role, andequally not a change-management role.

It is the rarer combination: someone whocan build a performant enterprise semantic model, credibly challenge adeveloper's DAX, then stand in front of the business and teach it.

What you'll do

  • Own the enterprise Power BI adoption roadmap, withmeasurable adoption and value targets.
  • Build engagement from the ground up: stakeholder buy-in, achampions network, forums, clinics and a genuine community of practice.
  • Design and personally deliver structured training —workshops, learning materials and guidance, pitched from Excel-refugee toseasoned analyst.
  • Shape the governed semantic layer alongside dataengineering: consistent KPI definitions, certification processes, namingconventions and refresh strategy.
  • Author the enterprise reporting Design Guide — standards, templates, palettes, UX conventions — and hold the organisation to it.
  • Establish workspace governance: deployment pipelines, Dev/QA/Prod design, RLS/CLS, sensitivity labelling and auditability.
  • Build and optimise flagship dashboards yourself, andtroubleshoot performance where others are stuck.
  • Reduce duplicated, ungoverned reporting — and prove youhave.

Requirements

  • Power BI technical depth — you have personally deliveredenterprise-scale Power BI.

Advanced DAX, Power Query/M, semantic model designand optimisation, large and complex datasets, workspace strategy andadministration, RLS, certified datasets.

You can coach on all of it and push backon poor implementation.

  • Adoption & change leadership — you have created anenterprise adoption roadmap, run champion networks, driven cultural changearound data-driven decision making, and measured adoption and business value.

This is the most critical dimension of the role.

  • Training & enablement — you have designed and personallydelivered structured training programmes and built the materials yourself.

Occasional knowledge-sharing is not what we mean.

  • Governance & operating model — reporting standards, dashboard design principles, workspace management, certified dataset processesand self-service controls.

You know how to scale Power BI without creating agovernance problem.

  • Microsoft Fabric — architecture, capacity andmedallion/lakehouse patter
  • Power Apps, ideally integrated with Power BI.
  • Sensitive, confidential or regulated data; Azure exposure; PL-300 and/or

Shortlisted candidates will prepare a maximum of two Power Point slides on their approach to enterprise Power BI adoption, and demo a Power BI dashboard they personally designed and built on a dataset of theirchoice — covering the business problem, auorytelling, accessibility and howthey would drive ongoing usage.

Format and style are entirely your own.
