We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile FullStack Infrastructure Engineer to join a global financial services technology team in London. This is a hands‑on contract role spanning infrastructure design, IoT/OT systems, network security, automation, and stakeholder engagement across globally distributed teams.
You will lead and support PoC, RFP, and RFE initiatives across diverse platforms, working closely with Networks, SecDesign, Proxy, Risk, and Windows engineering teams — including engaging directly with external vendors to validate products against firm security policies.
A key element involves IoT systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting controls, occupancy sensors, and air quality monitoring. You should be comfortable operating across multiple device platforms (Android, Windows, Linux, Unix, iOS) and working with international partners across time zones.
Key responsibilities:- Lead and support infrastructure PoC/RFP/RFE initiatives across diverse enterprise platforms.
- Administer applications with full lifecycle ownership, ensuring seamless request flow and network integration.
- Manage and troubleshoot network and security configurations: routers, switches, load balancers, proxies, firewalls, DMZ, IPs, ports, subnets, MAC addresses, and authentication protocols (RBAC, Kerberos, SSO, LDAP, AD).
- Perform server administration across Windows, Linux, Mac, and vendor‑specific ecosystems (e.g., CA, BMC, IBM DataPower).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Shell to streamline operations at scale.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure delivery.
- Engage stakeholders and business customers — gathering requirements, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction across complex technology programmes.
- Support, troubleshoot, and upgrade IoT/OT devices across Android, Windows, Linux, Unix, and iOS — including BMS, lighting, occupancy, and air quality systems.
- Work with SecDesign teams to design and apply appropriate controls and processes for integrated solutions.
- Collaborate with technology partners, SMEs, and vendors to implement SecDesign‑approved solutions and future‑proof existing systems.
- Ensure production systems remain compliant within the firm’s Hygiene programme.
- Operate effectively in a globally distributed team, including occasional meetings outside core hours.
- Application administration: Excellent – End‑to‑end request flow with network integration.
- Network & security: Excellent – Deep understanding of network layers, configs, and authentication flows.
- Server administration: Excellent – Platform‑agnostic, including vendor‑specific systems.
- Automation scripting: Excellent – PowerShell / Python / Perl / Shell — strong logic and scripting.
- Communication skills: Excellent – Clear, concise, and effective with senior stakeholders.
- Customer / stakeholder management: Excellent – Strong interpersonal and engagement skills.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Proficient – Familiarity with DevOps practices and tooling.
- Cloud technology: Proficient – Exposure to cloud platforms and services.
- IoT / OT devices: Excellent – Platform‑agnostic troubleshooting and support.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications in networking, security, or cloud technologies (CCNA, AWS, Azure, etc.) are a strong advantage.
- Prior experience in BFSI, Capital Markets, or similarly regulated enterprise environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a global team environment, across time zones and technology partner ecosystems.
