We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Driver (Class 2) to join our client in Paddock Wood, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional Category C Driver looking for a stable, ongoing role with a competitive pay rate and the potential to secure a permanent position.

Location: Paddock Wood, Kent

Pay Rate: £17.50 per hour (PAYE)

Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 - 17:00 | No weekends

Contract: Ongoing temporary with a temp-to-perm opportunity

The Role

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for operating a Class 2 / Category C vehicle for local deliveries and collections across the region. This role would suit an experienced LGV Class 2 Driver, Cat C Driver, or Rigid Driver who enjoys a varied role combining driving and yard-based duties.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out local deliveries and collections (depot to depot) as required
  • Assisting in the yard during quieter driving periods
  • Moving pallets safely and efficiently around the yard
  • Supporting loading and unloading activities
  • Conducting daily vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with road safety regulations
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience as an HGV Driver, LGV Driver, or HGV Class 2 Driver
  • A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to assist with yard duties
  • Good knowledge of driver compliance and road transport regulations
