What you'll be doing:

  • As a vital part of our central finance function, you'll be at the heart of WPP's Group reporting function, working on complex and exciting projects.
  • Play a key role in our core functions: This includes impairment assessments, acquisition and disposal accounting, financial instruments, investments, leasing, and more, ensuring WPP's financial statements are accurate and compliant with IFRS.
  • Master the art of consolidation: Wrangle data from our global network of companies, navigating multiple currencies and jurisdictions to create a cohesive financial picture.
  • Drive process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance our reporting processes, making us more efficient and effective.
  • Influence senior leadership: Prepare critical financial information for senior management, providing insights and analysis that drive key decisions.
  • Be a compliance champion: Ensure adherence to WPP's accounting policies and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, safeguarding the integrity of our financial reporting.
  • Be part of a great team: We have a high performing team with a positive culture centred around collaboration, teamwork and supporting each other.

What you'll need:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) with at least one year of post-qualification experience, preferably in a listed (ideally UK premium listed) environment.
  • Experience navigating the complexities of large, multinational organisations.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS.
  • Sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with a thirst for learning and a passion for problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the WPP network.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
