Y2K Vintage is entering a hugely exciting new phase. As we continue to scale the business, we’re launching our very first stores outside of London and Leeds marks a major milestone for us as the home of our brand new unisex concept.
This is a defining moment for the company, and we’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to take full ownership of this store from launch. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in expanding our community, shaping a new arm of the brand, and building something from the ground up in a new city.
You will be responsible for:
- Team Leadership
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment, encouraging open communication and a strong sense of community
- Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team from day one
- Provide ongoing coaching to ensure exceptional customer service and strong team culture
- Sales Management
- Drive sales performance and ensure the store meets and exceeds targets
- Monitor KPIs closely and implement strategies to maximise performance
- Lead from the front on the shop floor, setting the standard for customer engagement
- Visual Merchandising
- Oversee the presentation and layout of stock to create a visually exciting and trend-led retail environment
- Continuously evolve displays based on stock, trends and sell-through
- Bring the unisex Y2K concept to life in-store
- Social Media and Local Marketing
- Work with the Social Media Manager to drive store visibility and engagement
- Build hype around the new store opening and ongoing activity
- Develop strong links within the local community to grow brand presence
- Inventory Management
- Oversee stock levels and work closely with the stock team to ensure strong product offering
- Monitor sell-through and identify opportunities to drive performance across categories
- Staffing
- Manage rotas, payroll and team scheduling efficiently
- Ensure optimal staffing levels to support a high-energy store environment
- Customer Experience Enhancement
- Deliver an exceptional, community-driven in-store experience
- Build relationships with customers and create a loyal following in a new city
- Business Development and Expansion
- Play a key role in establishing Y2K Vintage in Leeds
- Act as an ambassador for the brand as we expand beyond London
- Contribute ideas and strategy to support continued growth
- Coordination with Company Founders
- Work closely with founders on store performance, strategy and opportunities
- Be a key voice in shaping the future of the brand during this scaling phase
Desired experience:
- Proven experience in a retail management role, ideally in fashion or vintage
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a team from the ground up
- Commercially driven with a strong understanding of KPIs and sales strategy
- Experience in visual merchandising and creating engaging retail spaces
- A passion for vintage fashion, particularly 90s and 2000s/Y2K trends
- Strong organisational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
