At the heart of this mission is Financial Modelling, the conceptual engine behind our proprietary models and analytical frameworks. This team brings intellectual rigour to our service, focusing on what truly matters in our clients' financial lives. We distill complex financial realities into user-friendly, actionable, and personalised insights powered by data. Every model and tool we build is designed to be robust, scalable, and purposeful, providing the unifying logic that powers the entire client lifecycle.
Team Overview We are seeking an Investment Risk Modelling Associate to professionalise and scale Y TREE's proprietary Risk models suite, specifically our risk assessment framework and all related reporting & investment analytics engines. Your role is to support the daily operation and maintenance of the Y TREE risk framework and to deliver high quality investment & risk analyses to business stakeholders. You will ensure the reliability of the Pythonâbased algorithms that determine asset risk levels. Your primary focus is operational excellence: ensuring data integrity, running regular risk valuations, validating benchmark updates, and acting as the first line of defence for asset data quality. You will play a critical role in documenting the framework to reduce keyâperson risk and supporting the migration of models to a scalable production environment.
The Role Support the Risk Framework Run Y TREE risk model framework standard processes to ensure all live assets have an assigned and reviewed risk assessment. Assist the team in migrating local Python models to the backâoffice/webâbased platform. Contribute to the maintenance, update and governance of capital market assumptions feeding into the framework, including but not limited to model risk control and model research. Collaborate with key stakeholders to push AI adoption across all risk analytics processes.
Documentation & Knowledge Capture Create and maintain detailed documentation for codebases, factor definitions, and validation processes to ensure the system is transparent and transferrable. Become a goâto member for unlocking any risk related issues/clarification needed by business stakeholders.
Data Quality Assurance Build, deploy and maintain a reliable and efficient asset data monitor to flag data quality risks (missing holdings, stale prices, reference data errors) Identify and resolve anomalies in vendor data.
Model Research & Validation Run the monthly/quarterly model validation packs and assist in the periodic reâcalibration of risk factors working directly with the Risk Lead. Contribute to the continuous development of the team's Financial Insights Tool through reviewing, updating and integrating more analysis capabilities (e.g. mortgage analysis, property analysis, privateâmarkets lookâthrough, and other satellite models).
AdâHoc Marketing/Client facing analysis Provide business stakeholders with high quality investment risk & performance scenarios or portfolio analysis that can be reused. Translate raw model outputs into clear summaries for nonâtechnical stakeholders. Collaborate with marketing and biz dev teams to supply risk insights, stressâtest stories, and benchmark commentary for content that supports acquisition and retention.
Product/Tech Support Collaborate with the Product team in defining acceptance criteria for new risk analytics features. Act as a tester for risk outputs embedded in user workflows. Support the migration of selected models into the back office with Product/Tech in defining interfaces, SLOs, error budgets, and rollback plans. Coordinate incident response with developers.
About You Experience: Up to 4 years of experience in the financial industry, ideally within a risk management or financial modelling capacity. Qualifications: Degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline; a Master's degree and/or CFA qualification (or progression toward) is a plus but not required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in coding language (Python in particular). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for portfolio analytics and data manipulation. Client Experience: Experience in clientâfacing interactions is useful but not required. Understanding of financial planning analysis with sophisticated clients is a must.
