About the Role:
Due to multiple potential projects progressing simultaneously, we are looking for multiple Planning Directors to operate in stand-alone capacities. You will take full ownership of the planning process from land acquisition to securing planning permission, while also building and managing your future team in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning process from Stage 0 (land acquisition) to Stage 3 (planning approval) across multiple residential projects.
- Develop and execute the UK planning strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and management of all planning applications, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and design aspirations.
- Manage relationships with local planning authorities, statutory bodies, and external consultants to secure timely approvals.
- Oversee site appraisals and feasibility studies, identifying planning risks and opportunities early in the land acquisition process.
- Stay updated on national and local planning policies, advising leadership on changes that may impact development plans.
- Work closely with design, land, and construction teams to ensure integration of planning and design elements.
- Lead the recruitment, building, and development of the planning team as the business grows.
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in planning, with a proven track record of managing residential planning applications independently.
- Experience in delivering large-scale residential development projects (market-led private housing preferred).
