Job Overview
In order to further strengthen the company's core team building and give full play to the unique advantages of Chinese people in cross-cultural communication and the integration of Chinese and British architectural concepts, we are now recruiting outstanding Chinese management trainees in the UK. This position aims to cultivate comprehensive talents with practical skills in the British construction industry, international project management thinking and cross-cultural collaboration capabilities. You will participate in the company's key construction projects in the UK throughout the entire process, from early program discussions and planning approvals to on-site construction management, quality control, and later delivery and operation and maintenance, and have full exposure to the entire life cycle of British construction projects. At the same time, you will collaborate deeply with local British architects, engineers, and project teams, and assist in the connection of Sino-British construction technology exchange related work, and quickly accumulate practical experience in the front line of the British construction industry. Through systematic training and practical project training, you will gradually grow into the core backbone of the company's expansion of the UK construction business and technological innovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Project Assistance: Assist UK project managers in collecting key project information, including approval requirements from the UK local planning authority, site geological survey reports, customer demand surveys, and interpretation of UK construction industry standards (such as BS standards), providing accurate data support for project plan formulation and compliance review.
- On-site Management Support: Reside on-site in the UK project to assist in supervising construction progress and site management, verifying the completion status of project nodes according to the UK construction project construction plan (such as Gantt chart), promptly identifying and reporting potential delay risks (such as supply chain issues, weather impacts, etc.), and assisting in formulating response plans.
- Cross-Cultural Communication and Collaboration: Assist the UK project team to communicate with Chinese partners (such as Chinese building materials suppliers and technical advisory teams), accurately convey the UK project's technical requirements, compliance standards and schedule needs, and provide feedback to the Chinese side to promote efficient collaboration between the two parties.
- Document and Report Organization: Responsible for the organization and archiving of documents throughout the entire UK project process, including construction drawings (in compliance with UK architectural drawing standards), planning approval documents, change notices, quality inspection reports, meeting minutes, etc., establishing a document management system that complies with UK construction industry standards to ensure document traceability and compliance.
Job Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or above in construction engineering, civil engineering, engineering management, architecture and other related majors; priority will be given to recent graduates (class of 2025) who have studied for a bachelor's or master's degree in the UK, or previous graduates who have worked/lived in the UK for 1-2 years and are familiar with the local environment.
- Language Skills: The applicant must have native or near-native English proficiency, fluent oral expression, and professional writing skills (able to independently write English project reports and draft contract terms). The applicant must have near-native Chinese proficiency and be able to communicate proficiently in both Chinese and English.
- Professional Skills: Master the core knowledge of the UK construction industry, including UK building regulations (such as Building Regulations), planning approval process, construction standards (BS standards), health and safety regulations (CDM Regulations). Candidates who understand Chinese construction industry regulations are preferred. Proficiency in commonly used software in the construction industry, such as AutoCAD, Revit (BIM technology), Project (project management), Navisworks (construction simulation), etc. Basic data analysis skills are preferred.
- Comprehensive Quality: Possess excellent cross-cultural collaboration skills, be able to quickly adapt to the local work pace and team culture in the UK, and work effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds. Strong learning ability and high stress tolerance, able to quickly master new knowledge during the tight schedule of UK projects (such as the historical building protection requirements of specific projects), and flexibly respond to unexpected problems during the construction process (such as on-site technical adjustments and changes in approval processes).
- Visa Requirements: Hold a valid UK visa (such as a student visa that can be converted to a work visa, PSW visa, work visa, etc.), no UK visa application requirements (the company can assist in providing a work visa guarantee letter, which is adapted according to the candidate's visa situation), be willing to develop in the UK long-term, and accept short-term business trips within the UK based on project requirements.
