Y Bryncynan, a beautiful country pub enjoying stunning views across Nefyn and the wider Llyn peninsula, is on the lookout for a talented and passionate Head Chef to join us as we look to transform the current menu to focus on quality, fresh and locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, have a well-rounded background, be organised and competent with health & safety and food safety standards, showcase creativity and flair for menu and recipe design, and a desire to deliver only the best food quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth daily operations and execution of menu.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high-quality standards.
  • Manage prep & par, ensuring consistency and efficiency in delivering menu items.
  • Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain rigorous hygiene standards across the kitchen.
  • Monitor stock, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise GP.
  • Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
