  • ABOUT XYZ REALITY
  • ──────────────────────────────

XYZ Reality are the creators of the world's first and only engineering-grade Augmented Reality solution, purpose built for the construction industry.

Not only have we created this holographic technology, that sits within The Atom β€” a smart, site-safe headset/hardhat β€” but we implement it on projects, utilising the power of AR to ensure that all schemes are completed in line with delivery timescales and budgets.

XYZ has grown to over 100 staff across the UK, US & Europe and is working with Mission Critical organisations & construction companies to successfully deliver major projects.

THE ROLE

──────────────────────────────

This role sits within the Production team at our NPI facility in Reading, Berkshire, reporting to the Procurement Manager and on-site at least three days per week.

As Systems Engineer, you will be the internal owner of the business systems that production, quality, procurement and logistics run on β€” beginning with the selection and implementation of a new ERP, and evolving from there.

The role takes the ERP programme off the leadership team and gives XYZ a single system of record for stock, BOMs, builds and serial-level traceability.

The systems you build must scale with the business: what is built now must support materially higher volumes, more products and more people β€” without adding headcount or manual workarounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ──────────────────────────────
  • Own the ERP replacement programme end to end β€” requirements gathering, vendor selection support, configuration, data migration from E-Max, testing, go-live and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Map how the business works today across goods-in, stores, build, test, despatch and returns; define the target process and data model and hold the line on requirements through configuration and go-live.
  • Own purchasing, supplier and item-master data the Procurement function depends on; own integrations and data flows between ERP, finance, CRM and support systems including the Freshdesk RMA workflow.
  • Implement serial-level traceability so component and build history is queryable for containment, warranty and field-failure investigation; own engineering change control and quality records under ISO 9001.
  • Build and maintain the production reporting pack β€” yield, scrap, rework, throughput, stock accuracy and on-time despatch β€” turning data into insight the team can act on.
  • Identify and deliver process automation and system improvement opportunities as production scales β€” eliminating manual re-keying, paper records and offline spreadsheets.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ──────────────────────────────
  • Demonstrable experience implementing or migrating an ERP or MRP system in a manufacturing environment β€” ideally as the internal owner rather than an external consultant.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing data structures: item masters, BOMs, routings, work orders, serialisation and lot control.
  • Data migration experience including extraction, cleansing, mapping and reconciliation.
  • Advanced Excel essential; SQL, Power BI or equivalent desirable. Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • KEY EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • ──────────────────────────────
  • Requirements gathering and process mapping capability, with the discipline to document thoroughly rather than work from memory.
  • Experience of systems integration and API-based data flows.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 documented information and traceability requirements; exposure to NCR, root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • A track record of identifying and delivering practical process improvements, with the benefit clearly evidenced.
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning a programme with senior sponsorship but limited internal precedent.
  • Scripting or automation capability (Python, Power Automate or similar) β€” desirable.

BENEFITS

  • ──────────────────────────────
  • 🏝️ 25 days annual leave + public holidays
  • 🩺 Private healthcare with Vitality
  • πŸŽ„ Christmas shutdown days on top of leave allowance (2–4 per year usually)
  • πŸͺ™ Biannual salary reviews
  • πŸ₯³ Summer & Christmas staff parties
  • πŸ’° Employee referral scheme
  • 🚲 Cycle to Work scheme
  • πŸš€ Make a real-world impact of revolutionising the construction industry
