The role of the Research Manager is to support the Strategy team in delivering work which helps Catalyx' clients build their business through the development of product, marketing and strategy that will best meet the needs and exceed the expectations of their end consumer. This work covers both working with AI (using proprietary AI prompt sequences) and/or primary consumer research projects to help identify opportunity areas. The Research Manager is an expert in the end-to-end consumer process, proficient in working with LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), turning complex data sets into actionable insights and innovations for our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and manage projects for clients - sometimes independently and sometimes as part of a team, depending on the size and scope of the project.
  • Identify client’s business objectives and translate it into the appropriate design method - either AI-led, or involving primary consumer research solutions.
  • Lead client communication throughout the entire project timeline.
  • Identify the right research target and prepare the consumer screener.
  • Ensure on-time project delivery and inspirational reporting via strong storytelling.
  • Prepare any additional ad hoc analysis linked to the project.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data and generate meaningful consumer insights.
  • Support the development of new innovation workstreams and their implementation.

Key Relationships:

  • Internal Senior members of the Strategy team - Lead Strategists, Innovation Strategy Directors.
  • Commercial team partners - assisting them on proposal writing and ensuring actionable insight delivery.
  • Operations team - to execute the project to the highest standards.
  • Tech development team - especially for AI/platform-led projects.
  • External Clients - to ensure our delivery unlocks progress and drives winning innovation.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic planning, brand management / marketing, consumer research or innovations (agency or client side).
  • Knowledgeable about insights, product innovation and brand building strategy.
  • Familiarity with Quantitative and/or Qualitative research methods.
  • Proficiency in working with AI LLMs (eg ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to generate consumer insights.
  • Experience in preparing written reports summarizing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Able to make meaning from large amounts of unstructured content (words, video or image), turning this into strategic direction, or the creative springboard for marketing and innovation.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently.
  • An attention to detail and an exacting standard, with a pride for delivering excellent work that exceeds client expectations.
  • A passion and understanding of new approaches to marketing, insight generation, innovation or strategy.
  • An excellent mastery of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Being adept at data analytics tools is a plus.
  • English is a must (C1 level), 2nd foreign language is a plus.
