For Companies Xylem is seeking an installation engineer to join our rental team based out of our Nottingham facility to carry out the installation of WSS (rental focused) equipment with a focus in the Midlands and surrounding areas. The Installation Engineer will be responsible for the installation & commissioning of pumping & treatment equipment. The role covers Monday to Friday 39 hours per week as well as being part of an on-call rota.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Rental Team with temporary installation, repair and refurbishment of submersible and surface mounted pumping equipment, sewage systems & treatment plants.
- As part of a team and lone working supporting a reactive type of work that requires the successful candidate to be quick thinking & adaptable.
- Isolate, dismantle and inspect pumping & treatment equipment.
- Working in an outdoor environment in different weather conditions daily.
- Work in a confined space environment.
- Driving a company vehicle to the standard required by Xylem Water Solution UK Ltd.
- To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.
- Standard hours of work are 39 per week however a totally flexible working attitude is necessary to meet the client and business needs. In addition, evening & weekend on-call duties will be necessary on a rotating basis.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Level 2/3 NVQ mechanical or equivalent.
- Proven experience pump & water treatment desirable.
- Good knowledge of pumps (electric and diesel) and water treatment (DAF).
- Previous experience working with Generators & temporary treatment plants.
- A flexible, can-do attitude to suit the role.
- Full UK driving licence.
