Join Xylem – Let's Solve Water®

Are you an experienced Marine or Offshore Engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges on cutting-edge electrochemical and cathodic protection systems? Are you looking for a role where every project is different – and where you can be based anywhere in the UK?

At Xylem, we're more than a global water technology company – we're pioneers in safeguarding infrastructure at the world's most demanding industrial and marine environments. We're seeking a Commissioning Engineer to install, commission, and service our specialist systems like CAPAC® and Chloropac® across customer sites in the UK and globally.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Install & Commission: Lead the installation and commissioning of Xylem's marine corrosion prevention and biofouling control systems on vessels, offshore platforms, and industrial sites.
  • Service & Maintain: Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs, conduct on-site inspections, and perform in-depth fault finding and root cause analysis.
  • Technical Support: Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers, supporting existing installations and identifying opportunities for system upgrades and improvements.
  • Be the Expert on Site: Supervise third-party contractors, ensure quality control, and deliver hands-on training to customer teams.
  • Own the Documentation: Complete all service, commissioning and compliance paperwork to the highest standard and within agreed timelines.
  • Safety First: Uphold safety procedures at all times – both onshore and offshore – leaving every site safe and fully operational.

What We're Looking For

We're ideally looking for a time-served engineer from the marine, offshore, or heavy industrial sector with strong electrical and PLC experience.

Essential:

  • Offshore certification (or willingness to obtain: BOSIET, Offshore Medical)
  • PLC skills (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley)
  • Electrical & mechanical fault-finding (bias towards electrical)
  • Strong communication and report writing skills (MS Office proficiency)
  • Compex Foundation course (or willingness to complete)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with chemical dosing or cathodic protection systems
  • Supervisory experience managing third-party contractors
  • Familiarity with offshore HSE procedures

Location & Travel

While our base is in Caldicot, we know the best engineers don't all live in one place. That's why we're open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, provided you're flexible to travel to customer sites both across the UK and offshore as needed.
