Your role will be a combination of administrative assistance and Tax support. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge by working closely with your Tax Advisers on a range of personal tax clients. This position offers the opportunity to study for professional qualifications and to learn the role and responsibilities of Tax Advisers for progression over time.
Job Role And Responsibilities:
- Prepare individuals' Tax returns including the request of information, sorting of information and input of data into Tax software in a timely manner and maintaining attention to detail.
- Assisting with administrative duties associated with the Tax Advisers portfolio including the request of client information, checking Tax codes, ensuring files are up to date.
- Attending client calls and meetings and preparing all meeting notes in advance and after the meetings.
- Liaising with HM Revenue and Customs in relation to status of clients' tax returns, tax rebates, documents sent/received.
- Assistance with ad-hoc tax work including preparation of reports, summaries and tax specific work.
Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong numeric and analytical skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for work under own initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst delivering work in a timely manner in accordance with strict deadlines.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients at all levels.
- Handling of sensitive and confidential information properly.
Professional Qualifications And Minimum Experience:
- Experience within a personal tax role preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Good Mathematical skills.
- Experience within financial services/accountancy is desirable, but not necessary.
