At x+why we’re on a mission to change the way the world works – for good.
Our little rant about generic adverts; we’ll keep it simple. If this excites you, we\'d love you to apply!
x+why was founded in 2019 by three determined entrepreneurs with a clear mission: business should be a force for good.
For us, that means considering people and planet alongside profit. We’re proud to be a certified B Corp, and that principle ripples through everything we do.
Today we operate over 400,000 sq ft of hospitality‑led coworking, event, and members’ club spaces for 5,000+ members. With a total of 15 sites, you’ll find us in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Milton Keynes, with more launches on the horizon!!
The bit about the role:
As the first point of contact at our stunning Georgian workspace in Bloomsbury House, you will play a central role in shaping the day‑to‑day experience of our members and guests. You’ll warmly welcome everyone who walks through our doors, delivering exceptional service and building genuine relationships that foster a vibrant, purpose‑driven community.
This is a hands‑on, roll‑your‑sleeves‑up type role where no two days are the same. While based at the front desk, you’ll be free to roam throughout the building, proactively supporting members, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring everything runs seamlessly across the site.
You’ll respond quickly and thoughtfully to member queries, organise and host inspiring community events, and support the sales team with tours when needed. From resolving everyday facilities challenges (yes, including the occasional air con issue!) to maintaining exceptional building standards and supporting H&S compliance, you’ll take pride in creating an environment that feels welcoming, polished, and efficient at all times.
Ideally, you are available to commence employment from mid/end of May.
The bit about you:
You understand what exceptional service looks like, and how to achieve that. Your positive and engaging nature is infectious, and everyone you interact with walks away a little bit happier.
You crave ownership, but also enjoy the buzz of being part of a collaborative team. You are an exceptional communicator with a professional manner, are solution driven and always quick to respond to any member queries.
Managing a variety of moving parts, (while smiling) is what you do best! Highly adaptable, you love the sense of satisfaction that comes with overcoming challenges, learning new skills and exceeding expectations.
Why x+why?
We want you to enjoy coming to work every day. Even on Mondays.
To make sure of this we will provide you with a phenomenal environment – think inspiring design, cutting edge tech, stunning views, great coffee, and lots and lots of plants!
Bloomsbury House has an extra layer of \"special\" – with its very own private courtyard, it is a little hidden gem smack bang in central London!!!
Plus, you’ll be part of our incredibly supportive, collaborative team, who although take their members’ experience very seriously, also want to have a little fun along the way.
