The bit about us
x+why launched in 2019 with a simple belief: business should be a force for good. We’re proud to be a Certified B Corp, creating hospitality-led spaces that put people and planet alongside profit. Today we operate 15 Coworking, Event, and Members’ Clubspaces across London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Milton Keynes, supporting a vibrant community of 5,000+ members - with more exciting launches on the horizon!
The bit about the role
Based on the ground floor reception desk of Birmingham’s most prestigious building - 103 Colmore Row, you will be across everything that happens within the site. In this unique role you will act as both a Brand Ambassador for x+why, but also the entire Colmore Row community. You will greet guests, respond and action email enquiries, support with event delegates, manage contractor access and warmly welcome any VIPs. You will also build strong relationships with a range of 3rd party stakeholders, such as local businesses who use the space for exhibits and activations, the building management team and maintenance contractors. The ground floor is a hive of activity - there is a brand new coffee cart, music and a range of community focused pop ups and installations, so as Community Host, you will be front and centre!
The bit about you
As the first person members and guests to the site engage with, you will understand what exceptional service looks like, and how to achieve that. Your positive and engaging nature is infectious, and everyone you interact with walks away a little bit happier. You love being the “glue” that keeps everything ticking along and enjoy collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. You are solution based in your approach and as a highly visible brand ambassador you consistently demonstrate patience, composure (and kindness!) even on the busiest of days! Ideally you will have experience working in a front of house position for a premium hospitality brand or another coworking provider. Hours are Monday to Friday with 2 rotating shifts (7am-4pm and 8am-5pm).
Why x+why?
We want you to enjoy coming to work. Even on Mondays. To make sure of this we will provide you with a phenomenal environment - think inspiring design, cutting edge tech, stunning views, great coffee, and lots and lots of plants! Plus, you’ll be part of our hugely supportive, collaborative team, who although take their members’ experience very seriously, also want to have a little fun along the way. We welcome people from all walks of life. We strongly believe the best teams are shaped by unique stories, varied experiences and fresh perspectives. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
