At x+why we are on a mission to change the way the world works for good. We believe business should always be a force for good. We aim to replace long-winded adverts and generic recruitment jargon with concise, impactful information. We are a Certified B Corp and operate across the UK with offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Milton Keynes. We currently manage over 400,000 sq ft of hospitality focused co-working, event, and exclusive Clubspaces for over 5,000 members.

We are looking for a Community Host to join the ground floor team at Birmingham's 103 Colmore Row.

The bit about the role:

  • Based on the ground floor reception desk, you will be across everything that happens within the site.
  • Act as a brand Ambassador for x+why and the Colmore Row community.
  • Greet guests, respond to and action email enquiries, support with event coordination, manage contractor access, and warmly welcome VIPs.
  • Build strong relationships with 3rd party stakeholders, such as local businesses that use the space for exhibits and activations, the building management team, and maintenance contractors.
  • The ground floor is a hub of activity with a coffee kiosk, music, and community events; you will be front and centre as Community Host.

The bit about you:

  • You will be the first point of contact for members and guests, so you understand what exceptional service looks like and how to achieve it.
  • Your positive, engaging nature should leave people walking away happier.
  • You are the "glue" that keeps everything ticking, enjoy collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and are solution-based in your approach.
  • As a highly visible brand ambassador, you demonstrate patience, composure, and kindness, even on busy days.
  • Ideally you will have experience working in a front-of-house role for a premium hospitality brand or another co-working provider.

Hours: Monday to Friday with 2 rotating shifts (7am-4pm and 8am-5pm).

Why x+why?

We want you to enjoy coming to work every day. To support this, you will have a phenomenal environment—design, tech, views, great coffee, and lots of plants—along with a supportive, collaborative team that values member experience while still having fun.
