Experience
- 3+ years working in communications

What will you be doing?
The View is the only platform by and for women in the justice system with lived experience. Started by 3 incarcerated women in 2020, The View focuses on the rights of women and reframes the narrative of women affected by the justice system by publishing information that is accessible to everyone, spreading awareness, and promoting creativity through visual arts, creative writing, poetry, and more.
We are looking for a creative, organised, and disciplined person to take on a key role within our rapidly expanding organisation. As the Marketing volunteer, you will be central in the implementation of The View’s marketing strategy. You will support our team in the delivery of all aspects of marketing and communications activity with both key stakeholders and the public.
As a marketer, you’ll bring your own ideas, local knowledge, and personal experience to your work. You will help support the creation of a compelling and consistent narrative about the work that The View Magazine does across all our communication channels. You will be integral in helping to disseminate key messaging for core projects and work-streams, working closely with our internal teams and external partners. The View Magazine’s marketing approach aims to be both reactive and proactive, and you will be expected to be well-informed about events and trends in the media and public arena.
Attention to detail and organisational and IT skills (comfortable using Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams or similar) are essential.
Having an interest in the rights of women in the justice system, campaigning for social justice, health and social care. We are looking for someone that is wanting to grow and develop in this role, and we are committed to providing the time and resources needed to ensure that you flourish. We ask that you maintain a willingness to learn.
