About the Role

Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you’ll work closely with project colleagues to manage the introduction of new products at Xtrac, alongside managing the supply plan for our current product portfolio. Working with our commercial, demand planning, and operations teams, you’ll build the supply plan needed to support complex business requirements and deliver world-class products and service-drawing on in-depth knowledge of our business capabilities and sharp problem-solving skills to manage the demands of motorsport and high-performance automotive product groups.

In your role you will create and maintain a valid Production Schedule, based on commercial demand, over the short term (0-4 months) along with planning for the long-term Production Schedule (5 – 24 months) to ensure that sufficient resource capacity is available to meet the forecast requirements

Day-to-Day, you’ll be:

  • Providing operational and technical systems guidance within the supply planning team to ensure a consistent approach and a coherent supply plan
  • Managing the New Product Introduction (NPI) process — integrating new products into the capacity plan from initial design and manufacture through to delivery
  • Supporting the ongoing supply plan for the existing product portfolio, including evaluating and implementing engineering requests
  • Creating and maintaining a valid assembly and spare parts schedule for delivery to our global customer base
  • Taking a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating issues alongside production, demand planning, and integrated business planning teams
  • Managing capacity requirements within a rolling 0–4 month horizon, working proactively with demand planning and integrated business planning teams to mitigate issues
  • Working closely with Engineering and Quality teams on drawing issues and manufacturing changes
  • Planning the long-term production schedule (5–24 months) to ensure sufficient resource capacity is available to meet forecast requirements
  • Using your knowledge of our operations’ capabilities and capacities to optimise manufacturing supply plans and ensure maximum productivity
  • Managing and implementing schedule changes arising from customer requirements or technical changes
  • Maintaining a high standard of data integrity

About You

You’ll bring an in-depth understanding of planning principles, along with the commercial awareness and communication skills to flex between different levels of the business. You’ll have a thorough understanding of planning principles and a good grasp of ERP systems, ideally paired with a methodical, can-do attitude that lets you hit the ground running. Specifically, you’ll have:

  • A thorough, in-depth understanding of planning principles — ideally supported by a relevant professional qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing planning
  • The ability to work independently with a can-do attitude
  • A strong understanding of ERP principles and proficient ERP user experience (Epicor preferred, but not essential)
  • A minimum of A-level, HNC, or equivalent education, with demonstrated learning capability
  • Good knowledge of common manufacturing techniques and processes, and how they underpin a robust planning function
  • An understanding of assembly and manufacturing routings, and BOM structure
  • Practical knowledge of project management techniques and the stage gate process
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • A positive attitude to problem-solving and a genuine interest in complex scheduling analysis
  • NPI experience and practical knowledge of project management techniques / the stage gate process
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the initiative to keep goals on track
  • A methodical approach and consistent attention to detail
  • The confidence to work independently as well as part of a close-knit planning team
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and adapt with a flexible approach
  • Confidence flexing between layers of management, with excellent communication skills
  • Commercial and financial astuteness
