Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday, 19:00 – 06:00

About the Role
As Team Leader of our Milling department on our nightshift, you’ll provide leadership to the Milling team, delegating and managing workload in order to achieve the required levels of quality, output and productivity. This includes management and performance monitoring of the team and deputising in the absence of the Factory Manager. Keeping an eye on the ground and monitoring the department's current and future workload in order to report accurate information into the Factory Manager.
You’ll be responsible for the following:
- Utilisation and maintenance of the milling department's machines and equipment and ensuring that work flow is optimised and machine down time is kept to an absolute minimum.
- Promote continuous improvement activity across the department to increase productivity.
- Undertaking consumable stock control.
- Ensure quality of product is maintained to the highest of standards and participate in solving quality related issues where required.
- Encouraging the department to utilise the Manufacturing Support Engineers for quality/manufacturing issues where necessary.
- Understand, explain, deliver and promote the need to achieve the overall factory KPI’s.
- Lead the daily SQDP meetings and report back to management.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices and liaise with Health & Safety to escalate or resolve any issues.
- Liaise with multiple teams including our engineering departments.
- Ensure the department follows the plan set by day shift.
About You
The successful candidate should have the following attributes:
- Extensive CNC Milling experience is critical.
- Supervisory experience is critical.
- Demonstrated manufacturing problem solving experience.
- Demonstrated people skills.
- IT Literacy is critical (Including Microsoft Office, Teams, Planner etc.).
- Demonstrated continuous improvement experience.
- ERP Experience (particularly Epicor) is highly desirable.
- Successful completion of an apprenticeship in a manufacturing discipline is highly desirable.
- Higher education in an Engineering or related discipline is highly desirable (HNC / HND / Degree).
- Fanuc CNC programming experience is highly desirable.
