About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team at Xtrac. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to kick‑start their career in IT support and gain valuable hands‑on experience in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
Day to Day
- Provide first‑line/second‑line technical support to end‑users for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals, including troubleshooting and resolving basic hardware and software issues.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment, ensuring they are functioning correctly and securely.
- Respond to IT support tickets and service requests in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
- Provide basic training and support to end‑users on IT systems, applications, and best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, inventory, and support activities using IT service management tools.
- Assist with IT projects and initiatives as needed, including hardware deployments, software installations, and IT infrastructure improvements.
About You
- Some experience in a technical support role or relevant experience is preferred, but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of desktop operating systems and common desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
