The Inside Sales Development Representative plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction within a fast-paced component distribution business. This role is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, developing strong relationships with customers, and working collaboratively with internal teams and supplier channels to deliver tailored solutions. With a focus on achieving sales targets and maintaining gross margins, the role combines customer engagement, market research, and strategic selling.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Proactively identify and source new sales opportunities through inbound and outbound activities, including lead follow-up, cold calls, and email campaigns. Qualify leads and accounts to determine alignment with business goals and potential revenue opportunities.
  • Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with customers by understanding their needs, applications, and decision-making processes. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely responses to inquiries, quotes, and order follow-ups.
  • Sales Execution: Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets by developing customised proposals and recommending appropriate products or solutions. Leverage cross-selling and up-selling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities. Prepare and process orders, quotes, returns, and other customer transactions accurately using CRM and ERP systems.
  • Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with supplier representatives and internal teams, such as product management and customer service, to identify strategic sales opportunities. Provide input on market trends and customer feedback to inform product strategies and marketing initiatives.
  • Market & Product Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and new product offerings to position the company as a trusted advisor. Participate in training programs to deepen product knowledge and enhance selling skills.
  • Customer Service & Quality: Ensure all customer transactions meet quality standards and delivery timelines, resolving issues promptly. Monitor order fulfilment to guarantee customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management, highlighting key activities, challenges, and opportunities. Track and analyse sales data to refine approaches and improve performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in a sales or technical role within the electronics or component distribution industry will also be considered. Experience in inside sales, business development, or customer service, preferably within the electronics, semiconductor, or component distribution industries.
