Role: Stores Operative

Shift Pattern: Night Shift (Monday–Thursday)

Location: Northampton – high-performance engineering / motorsport environment

Contract Type: Contractor

We are currently recruiting a Stores Operative/Assistant (Nights) to join a high-performance engineering and manufacturing environment on an initial contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring components are accurately and consistently marked in line with design intent, quality standards, and relevant regulatory requirements. Working in a fast-paced, precision-led setting, you will play a key role in maintaining full component traceability across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Laser etching metallic components to defined design and quality specifications.
  • Applying part-marking labels to composite components in line with design and regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining full component traceability within ERP and digital tracking systems.
  • Ensuring accurate component identification and record keeping throughout all stages of manufacture.
  • Working closely with inspection, production control, engineering, and stores teams.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of both metallic and composite materials.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. IFS, SAP, SAP-based systems, or similar).
