We are seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to support a fast-paced F1/Motorsport programme. You will be responsible for sourcing complex engineered components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring materials and parts are delivered on time to support critical build schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement of technical and engineered components for F1/motorsport programmes
- Source high-quality suppliers, negotiate pricing, lead times and contractual terms
- Interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to ensure accurate purchasing
- Work closely with Design, Production, Planning and Build to support programme milestones
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
- Manage PO creation, order tracking and expediting of critical items
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and BOM accuracy
Essential Experience:
- Strong background as a Technical Buyer within F1, motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand engineering terminology
- Proven experience managing complex supply chains and fast-turnaround projects
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience with carbon composites, CNC/machined components, or rapid-prototype suppliers
- ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Epicor, IFS, etc.)
- Familiarity with build/support environments such as F1 race teams or performance engineering
