Overview
Inspector role in a high-performance engineering organisation on the night shift. You will play a vital role in ensuring components meet the highest standards of dimensional accuracy and quality.
About the Role
As part of the quality function, you’ll be responsible for the inspection and verification of precision-engineered parts, jigs, patterns, and moulds. You’ll work to tight tolerances, interpret engineering drawings, and apply established procedures to maintain consistency and reliability across production. This is a fast-paced environment where adaptability and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect in-process and finished components to exacting tolerances.
- Carry out dimensional validation checks of tooling and finished parts.
- Interpret technical drawings and work instructions with accuracy.
- Communicate effectively across teams to support production needs.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and short lead times.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Skilled in the use of Absolute Arms, Leica Trackers, and CMM machines.
- Familiar with inspection tools such as shadow graphs, hardness testers, and micrometres.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience with Polyworks software; PC-DMIS knowledge advantageous.
- ERP system familiarity beneficial.
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
