Exciting opportunity to join a specialist global engineering consultancy as a Chief Technical Specialist within Power Electronics, acting as the technical authority and figurehead for power electronics. The Chief Technical Specialist will provide deep expertise in power electronics, lead key technical ideas and concepts, and offer guidance across the wider team throughout the full project development lifecycle.
As Chief Technical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in technical discussions with customers, helping to summarise technical capability and propose solution approaches. This role will also involve acting as the face of Power Electronics for the organisation, representing the business at seminars and conferences, delivering presentations, and writing technical papers.
Key Skills/Experience
- Industry-leading knowledge of power electronics and magnetics technology (OBC, DC/DC, AC/DC), with exposure to related industries including Defence, Marine, Aerospace, Automotive, Off-Highway, or Commercial Vehicles.
- High-level experience in power electronics design from concept through validation and testing, with extensive practical knowledge of HV (High Voltage), high-power switching, and power devices.
- Experience leading the development and growth of Power Electronics capabilities in line with company strategy.
- Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to represent the organisation as an industry expert, including experience presenting at seminars and conferences and writing technical papers.
