About The Role
Our Pensions Advisory business continues to grow, and we are now looking for an experienced Consultant – Actuarial to join one of our vibrant offices in Reading, London Manchester, or Leeds office with hybrid working. This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous pensions valuation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cashflow valuations of funds considering buyout/buy-in insurance contracts
- Be involved in data and actuarial bases preparation using in-house standard approaches and the use of (MS-based) in-house developed software
- Produce complex actuarial models and calculations (Individual benefit and transfer value calculations)
- Develop a basic understanding of relevant technical issues, including scheme documentation
- Report to the team leader where tight deadlines and/or budgets have been imposed.
- Prioritise and plan personal workflow
Essential
Your Profile:
- Previous experience in pensions valuations is required
- Strong IT skills, expertise in MS Excel is essential.
- Good analytical skills and ability to work through tasks in a logical manner
- A keen interest in actuarial concepts
- A high level of numeracy
- ability to work well under time pressure and communicate findings with clarity will be necessary attributes
- An inquisitive and analytical mind
- Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Broad understanding of how the UK pensions schemes operate, with an understanding of the UK Pensions Act with the ability to interpret rules and awareness of what they mean for client work
