The National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED) is a national research centre for methamphetamine and emerging drugs of concern that embeds research in clinical practice. It aims to support clinicians to detect and respond to new drug health problems by building clinical research capacity and rapidly translating findings into clinical practice.
Why this role matters
The Senior Research Fellow is a leadership role at NCCRED within the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health and will develop and lead research and translational outputs. The Fellow will undertake independent research in clinical, community or digital interventions with a focus on methamphetamine and emerging drugs. The position reports to the Director of NCCRED and has 1‑4 direct reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- A PhD in medicine, public health, or related field, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
