About the role

Metform Group Pty Ltd is seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Salisbury, QLD. As a full-time member of our dynamic engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions that drive our business forward.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborating with senior engineers to conceptualise and design mechanical components and systems
• Producing detailed engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to support the manufacturing process
• Conducting research, analysis and testing to optimise designs and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Providing technical support to production teams to resolve issues and ensure the successful implementation of designs
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our design processes and documentation

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a mechanical design role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Experience in metal fabrication manufacturing environment is preferred
• Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Intermediate level skills in CAD software operation and design implementation
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Australian work authorisation required, including work visa holders
