If you have ambitions of becoming a successful Project Manager in your own right, this is the job for you - 11 of their current PMs have been promoted into the position from prior PE roles.
Working in a team of 18 on site, reporting to the PM, you will be trusted to make decisions and do your job - they want someone with runs on the board as a Project Engineer who has the confidence to make a call, can identify issues and drive a result.
Ideally, you will use Aconex & MS Project and have experience of delivering public sector projects as an Engineer.
The Role & Company:
Working as a Project Engineer on a new $65M Education facility in North West Sydney, you will be working in a team of 16 site-based professionals. Their ethos is all about the team - support one another and ensure you work together to ensure successful project outcomes. Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely in tandem with the Site Manager, the role is tasked with overseeing the drive on structure initially following through to facade & finishes. Managing Design, RFIs, shop drawings across the project entirety including Operating Manuals & Commissioning. You will be ably supported by a Site Engineer who has come through their Cadetship programme.
The business has been established for more than 50 years and is recognised as one of the top employers in Sydney's construction market. Focusing heavily on the institutional sectors, they cover health, aged care, education from primary to tertiary, leisure & hospitality and work for government agencies from local authorities to federal. They avoid developers and only build for end users who have a vested interest in delivering a quality building where relationships are valued. They have a historical capability to deliver commercial new builds to $180M and compete with the main players in the Tier 2 market.
Qualifications & Experience:
- You will ideally be from a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree background.
- You will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience working as an Engineer on new build construction projects in NSW - for this role, they will not consider people purely from overseas or a civil engineering background.
- You will ideally have worked on commercial buildings in excess of $20M and have worked for prior employers for a minimum of 2 years.
- You will be able to provide at least 2 references from people you have reported to recently - they will ask and you must be able to have the respect of prior employers.
- You will be able to work in Australia with no Visa restrictions.
