An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Mental Health - Crisis Stabilisation Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will:
- Undertake the clinical assessment, management/treatment planning to support a comprehensive assessment and recovery-based care.
- Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience.
- Provide clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation.
- Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing).
- A graduate certificate or greater qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable.
- Driver Licence.
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).

The Mental Health Crisis Stabilisation Unit (CSU) provides consumers presenting with a mental health crisis/illness a safe, supportive environment for acute mental health assessment, treatment, and management, including a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs.
