Your role at St John of God Murdoch:

  • We are now seeking two highly experienced, self-driven Anaesthetic Registered Nurses or Anaesthetic Technicians to join our multidisciplinary Perioperative team.
  • You will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner.
  • You will experience different aspects of the entire patient surgical journey which is both exciting and extremely rewarding within a fast-paced environment.

As an Anaesthetic Registered Nurse and a member of our friendly and approachable team, you will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner.

As an Anaesthetic Technician, you will assist the Anaesthetist, and under the direction of the Clinical & Registered Nurse, deliver high-quality care for patients undergoing anaesthesia.

At St John of God Murdoch, we have 16 main operating theatres, angio suite, endoscopy unit and Surgicentre. You will be exposed to the latest in surgical technology, including robotics, and work with some of the highest calibre surgeons in Australia who are usually based onsite in our consulting suites.

Our Clinical Command Centre is the hub that oils the theatre machine, with information feeding into and out of a central location to co-ordinate patient flow, equipment and available beds in recovery and on the wards.

The Position:

  • Maintain and develop skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence.
  • Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
  • Adhere to and support hospital policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide patient education and act as a resource where appropriate.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care.

As a Registered Anaesthetic Nurse, you will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

As an Anaesthetic Technician, you will possess a Diploma Qualification in Anaesthetic Technology, or equivalent. You will have well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to monitor and evaluate patient care under supervision.

To succeed, you will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Minimum 3 years working in a hospital environment with anaesthetic experience is essential to the role.
