The Job: As Head of Pastry, you will be fully accountable for managing, developing, leading and training your pastry team which currently consists of numerous highly energetic and motivated individuals. You will report to an existing senior culinary team led by the Resort Executive Chef. The Resort Executive Chef is ideally looking for a Head of Pastry to be fully responsible for managing and developing the existing range of bread, desserts and savouries that are currently produced within the company to date, to multiple outlets. You must be able to lead from the front and switch your talent and your teams from traditional hotel “Afternoon teas” to managing and developing large-scale events as well as VIP dining and high profile events as and when needed.

The Person: Owing to the seniority and responsibility of this remit, we are ideally looking for an experienced Head of Pastry or indeed a rising star operating at the “Senior Pastry Sous Chef” level who can now demonstrate that knowledge, skill and drive regarding this application on why they are ready to potentially move up within their career. Applying candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate experience working within a 5-star resort level as well as being exposed to Michelin or high rosette level cooking within a busy operational environment. You must be able to show that creative and passionate flair in all areas of responsibility across bread, desserts and chocolates. As a leader, you must be able to communicate well, be hands-on and be a good organiser to ensure your team are developing and enjoying working for you and the company. With all senior appointments as Head of Pastry, you will be expected to manage all staff wellbeing and costs, and adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
