The Opportunity: We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on, and motivated Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading the front-of-house team and overseeing daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Supervisor or Duty Manager looking to take the next step, or an experienced Assistant Manager seeking a new challenge in a premium environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager in all aspects of daily operations, ensuring seamless service delivery from lunch through to evening dining and special events.
  • Lead and motivate the front-of-house team on the floor, setting the standard for service excellence and maintaining a positive, professional atmosphere.
  • Assist in upholding the venue's reputation for exceptional guest experience, handling any feedback professionally and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Help drive revenue and profitability by supporting with stock control, rota management to control labour costs, and assisting with initiatives to increase average spend.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and perfect timing between front-of-house and back-of-house.
  • Support with staffing duties, including assisting with recruitment, training new team members, managing rotas, and contributing to performance development.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations, assisting the General Manager with administrative tasks and supplier relationships as needed.
  • Contribute to marketing and promotional activities, helping to attract new guests and nurture regular local loyalty.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, or Senior Supervisor within a quality restaurant or hospitality venue.
  • A genuine passion for food, drink, and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Good financial awareness, with experience in managing rotas, labour targets, and stock control.
  • Strong leadership presence on the floor, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, problem-solving approach under pressure.
  • A solid understanding of health & safety and licensing regulations.
  • A desire to grow and develop within the business, with the potential to progress towards a General Manager role in the future.
