We’re looking for
a Transport Supervisor to support our Tesco contract in Widnes. Working on a 4 on 4 off Night shift, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Transport Manager in the overall running of a safe, efficient, and cost-effective transport operation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support the Transport function of the Distribution Centre, reporting to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out accurately and professionally.
- Assist the Operations Manager with fleet or driver duties.
- Oversee and direct shift clerks, ensuring defect, pre-brief, and de-brief processes are followed.
- Investigate vehicle accidents and escalate issues to line management.
- Complete investigations within 10 days and escalate when necessary.
- Oversee and distribute the VOR report for the shift.
- Monitor driver performance and compliance, including Tachomaster reporting and driver scoring.
- Monitor vehicle compliance using Tachomaster, Trailermaster, and R2C systems.
- Complete customer or XPO KPIs as required.
- Coordinate with shunters to ensure assets are back in service.
- Work with VMU and vendors to ensure fleet servicing and compliance.
- Manage fleet stand-down in line with servicing and VOR requirements.
- Complete driver DCRS with assigned drivers.
- Manage driver absences following the Absence Management Policy.
- Ensure HR tasks are completed timely and to standard.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor or Shift Manager in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Good knowledge of Microlise, Tachomaster, and R2C systems.
- At least 2 years of progressive responsibility in Operations or Planning roles.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Transport management CPC is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of transport compliance.
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams, with a focus on optimization and continuous improvement.
