The purpose of this role is to provide essential out-of-hours support, ensuring seamless operation during night and day shifts.
As our Night Team Leader you will play a crucial role in ensuring that your team delivers excellent service, manages operational logistics, and maintains safety and compliance.
Main purpose of role: To manage the warehouse day team effectively to ensure that all goods are moved in and out of our warehouse efficiently.
A track record at a supervisory or management level within a complex, fast-paced transport operation.
Excellent knowledge of driving compliance and associated regulations (a CPC would be ideal).
A strong personality with the ability to effectively manage drivers, push for operational excellence and challenge the status quo.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving operational excellence and achieving productivity targets.
- Financial stewardship and performance management.
- Developing and maintaining key customer and stakeholder relationships.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Carry out day-to-day driver planning, focusing on resource optimisation, using both XPO and agency colleagues.
- Ensure that all drivers comply with EU and Working Time Directive regulations and investigate accidents/incidents promptly.
- Lead the team to meet and exceed operational objectives, such as service provision, productivity and fuel KPIs.
- Lead, manage and engage teams, driving continuous improvement.
