We’re recruiting a Transport Contract Manager to take full ownership of the Lakeland contract, leading operational performance, customer relationships, compliance, and commercial delivery. This is a key leadership role where you’ll drive operational excellence, ensure full legal compliance, and lead a high-performing team—while acting as the named CPC Holder for the contract.
Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary up to £46,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage the full contract P&L and deliver on financial targets.
- Lead two Transport Shift Managers and oversee daily driver operations.
- Ensure efficient route planning and consistent KPI delivery.
- Maintain full compliance as the named CPC Holder.
- Drive Health & Safety standards across drivers and office colleagues.
- Coach, develop, and support your team to deliver operational excellence.
- Build strong customer relationships and act as the main point of contact.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Strong experience in transport management, logistics, or 3PL contract management.
- Valid CPC in Road Transport (essential).
- Experience managing P&L with solid commercial and financial understanding.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, compliance, and H&S requirements.
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
