Is operating effectively in a transport environment one of your strengths? Is coordinating drivers through your leadership team and ensuring you run a safe and efficient operation a day-to-day occurrence for you? We run a contract for British Gypsum, where we lead a team of HGV drivers, site services and admin colleagues.

The salary on offer will be up to £50,000 dependant on experience. We offer 25 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts and a workplace pension and many other benefits.
What you’ll do on a typical day
- You will acquire the leadership of a whole operation with c75 staff.
- Ownership of the site safety strategy, through colleague engagement and central support and delivering a first-class safety culture.
- Provide operational excellence through leadership and guidance for the site management team.
- Create a one team culture across all site functions, where everyone is pulling in the same direction.
- Accountability for site performance, delivering on agreed KPIs and operational metrics.
- Be proactive in identifying change and continuous improvement opportunities throughout the operation.
- Regular customer engagement, locally and centrally.
What you need to succeed at XPO
- Experience of or potential for running an autonomous operation.
- Not essential but ideally, you’ll be CPC qualified.
- A good understanding of driver’s hours, vehicle compliance and best in class accreditations (e.g. FORS) is highly desirable, however.
- Able to demonstrate improvements in operational environments.
- Able to effectively communicate confidently at all levels.
- Additional warehousing related & safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH) are desirable.
