Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We're looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our Widnes site. Working Monday to Friday, although some flexibility is required to cover holidays.

Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £28,000. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You'll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
  • To ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements.
  • To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management.
  • Conduct relevant QHSE activities: Care Cards, Bsafe, Safety Conversations etc.
  • To ensure trunk operation sheet is up to date.
  • To maintain and work through defect logs where applicable.
  • Raise defects and follow defect process.
  • To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
  • To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role.
  • To undertake any other reasonable task as required.
  • To always display the highest standards of customer service.
  • To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Experience in a transport, logistics, or distribution office environment (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Confident using transport systems and Microsoft Office (training provided where needed).
  • Good communication skills with drivers, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn wider transport and supervisory duties.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.
